Why should we be humble? Why shouldn’t we love ourselves?

If I know my value; if I’m honest about my abilities; why would you say I should be modest about my worth. Why not just be truthful instead of humble?

Why can’t I love myself, which is just another way of expressing admiration and esteem—the highest degree of both. Love is not sex, but romantic love should be expressed and celebrated with sex.

Human beings need water, food, shelter, and companionship. This is not an exhaustive list of our needs, but just because these needs will maintain our survival, there’s no reason why we would view these needs as something we’re entitled to demand—that’s caused by altruism and bad philosophy.
