What conservatives don't seem to get about liberation
Degeneracy flourishes where it is a taboo
Conservatives and progressives alike are both authoritarian statists; they just obsess over different petty politics. They both agree that a totalitarian state is the answer to their problems and that the state has every moral imperative to enforce morality on people, as long as it’s THEIR brand of morality.
Conservatives and progressives only disagree on the flavour of morality to be violently imposed. For more context, read fascism = socialism.
Conservatives seem to oppose the liberation of vices, the tolerance of degeneracy, even when that degeneracy occurs between consenting adults in privacy. They become moralist busybodies wagging fingers and pontificate as to how all people should behave.
They have a problem with tolerating a vice, even when “tolerating” does not equal “celebrating.” Their slippery slope is that, as soon as we accept a bad behaviour, it will escalate to celebrating it. But they only have their government to thank for promoting degenerate behaviors through its inorganic and contrived social-engineering efforts. The irony of believing that the same government that deliberately destroys your values will somehow save them…
Here’s the problem: Liberation of degeneracy doesn’t increase it; it simply exposes it. If anything, the liberation of degeneracy can potentially decrease it because it deprives it of its taboo element. Degenerates get a kick out of breaking taboos. Take the taboo away and let’s see how attractive they find it.
Alcohol consumption increased during the American alcohol prohibition era. Homosexuality is absolutely rampant in the Muslim countries, where it is viciously criminalised. Female students in oppressive Iran feel the need to expose themselves in public in their underwear precisely because it is forbidden to show skin.
What you resist persists.
- Carl Jung
It’s been argued (although not proven) that the incredibly low occurrence of sex violence in Japan is a consequence of easy access to pornography. I believe this to be true. Do you really want to live in a world where degenerates have no outlet? Good luck.
Tolerating does not equal celebrating. The celebration and encouragement of degeneracy we are being shoved down our throats is inorganic. It is funded by your government to keep you preoccupied and at each other’s throats with nonsense so that you don’t protest against its wars, embezzlements, corruption, and all the unfairness that are the inalienable traits of all states. Rainbow police cars and speech laws treating certain sexually obsessed groups as privileged minorities should be a hint. The state is the problem, and YOU are the problem for looking to the state to solve for you the problems it has deliberately created.
The irony is that many conservatives like to romanticise the socialist Roman Empire, which was extremely tolerant of all kinds of degeneracy, even the kind that involved involuntary submission to degeneracy. Yet, it was this somewhat social and economic freedom that enabled Rome to thrive, even if it tolerated slavery and other socialist nonsense. Yes, slavery is socialist by definition.
If anything, accepting degeneracy among consenting adults allows you to know who you’re dealing with. Then, you can use your right to associate or dissociate to show them what behaviours you approve of or not. Your freedom of association is the only thing you have, and it’s enough because it provides incentives for people to adopt your desired behaviours, as long as you make yourself worthy of their attention. Read Ostracism Is All We Have by Sovereign for context.
But to want to violently enforce your desired behaviours via state monopoly of force is simply atrocious, and you wouldn’t like it when that same state imposed behaviours you don’t like.
Conservatives love it when the state violently imposes behaviours they approve of. But when it imposes behaviours they don’t like, they whine and play victim, and delude themselves that “voting harder next time” will solve their issues. Progressives are guilty of the same hypocrisy.
Instead of recognising that the problem is our deluded need for centralised government, conservatives keep empowering their own doom: the state. The state is the first-cause problem. It’s always been the state. The state is corrupt degeneracy on steroids. This brain-rotting statist mindset is the root of all evil: to think that you have the right to violence to impose your brand of desired behaviours.
Out of all the vices, there is no greater degeneracy than wanting to violently impose your brand of desired behaviours on others.

I used the same argument during scamdemic. When my family fully supported the coercive tactics for the quakcines I faced them with the same argument: "you only approve this because you agree with it but one day somebody will force something on you don't like and then what?"
Unfortunately I could not break through.
Well said! Man, I see this on X every day from the conservative crowd.
